1. What Information Do We Collect?
We collect information you provide to us, information created when you use the Services, and technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.

Depending on how you use Plantivision, we may collect names, email addresses, usernames, handles, profile information, passwords and authentication data, photos, plant records, grow guides, care schedules, care events, reminders, notes, location or pickup location information, community content, marketplace content, support requests, and Viz AI assistant conversations, prompts, uploaded context, images, responses, feedback, memory facts, summaries, weekly plans, and run metadata.

When necessary, with your consent, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we may process sensitive information such as account login/authentication credentials, contents of messages or communications, location data used for app features, and other sensitive information you voluntarily submit in Viz conversations, support messages, community content, marketplace messages, or other user-generated content.
We do not collect or process sensitive information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
Payment and Purchase Information
If you purchase a subscription or premium feature, payments are processed through the applicable app store or payment provider. RevenueCat helps us manage purchase status, subscriptions, entitlements, and premium feature access. We do not store full payment card numbers.
Application, Device, and Usage Data
If you use our mobile application, we may request access to your device camera, photo library, storage, location permissions, and push notification permissions. You can change these permissions in your device settings.
We may automatically collect device information, log and usage data, IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, country, approximate location derived from technical signals, request timestamps, pages or screens viewed, searches, feature usage, API failures, crash data, performance data, and other technical information.
Google APIs and Location Search
We use Google APIs, including Google Places/Maps Platform APIs, for location search, selected place details, pickup/location names, approximate latitude and longitude for marketplace listings, and distance/proximity search.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
We process personal information to create and manage accounts, provide plant care, catalog, reminder, AI assistant, community, marketplace, and support features, process subscriptions and premium feature access, enable user-to-user communications, respond to support and privacy requests, send administrative and service messages, request feedback, send marketing communications where permitted, protect and secure the Services, identify usage trends, improve Plantivision, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our terms.
3. What Legal Bases Do We Rely On?
Where a legal basis is required, such as under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or Canadian privacy laws, we may rely on consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and vital interests.
You can withdraw consent at any time by using device settings, app settings, unsubscribe links, or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before withdrawal or processing based on legal grounds other than consent.
6. Do We Offer Artificial Intelligence-Based Products?
Yes. Viz and related Plantivision features use artificial intelligence, machine learning, image analysis, text analysis, automation, and AI insights.
We provide AI features through third-party AI service providers, including Google Cloud AI and OpenAI where configured. Your input, output, images, context, prompts, plant data, care history, location context, marketplace context, feedback, and related personal information may be shared with and processed by these providers to provide AI features.
AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it.
7. Is Your Information Transferred Internationally?
Our servers and service providers may be located in the United States, Canada, and other countries. If you access the Services from outside those countries, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries that may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections, data processing terms, and European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information.
8. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud and abuse, preserve security, maintain backups, or support operational needs.
No purpose in this notice requires us to keep personal information longer than the period in which users have an account with us, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Account deletion may involve a grace period and later purge process. Some records may remain where permitted or required for safety, moderation, legal compliance, fraud prevention, backups, logs, transaction integrity, or shared conversation/community context.
9. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We use organizational and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authentication, password hashing, hashed tokens, secure device storage, route authentication, rate limits, validation, cloud infrastructure protections, signed photo URLs where implemented, monitoring, and access controls.
No electronic transmission or storage system is 100% secure. You should access the Services only within a secure environment and protect your device, email, password, and account access.
10. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information; withdraw consent; opt out of certain processing; limit use of sensitive information; request human review of solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects; or appeal a privacy decision.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@plantivision.com or visit our contact page. We may need to verify your identity or authority before fulfilling a request. Some requests may be limited where exceptions apply.
11. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most browsers and some mobile systems include Do-Not-Track signals. Because there is no uniform standard for recognizing or implementing these signals, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted that we must follow, we will update this Privacy Notice.
12. United States Privacy Rights
US state privacy laws may provide rights to know whether we process your personal information, access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, delete personal information, obtain a copy of personal information, opt out of certain processing, limit use of sensitive personal information, appeal decisions, and avoid discrimination for exercising rights.
In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected identifiers, customer records information, commercial information, internet or network activity, geolocation data, and sensitive personal information such as account login information. We do not collect protected classification characteristics, biometric information, professional or employment-related information, education information, or inferences used to create consumer profiles.
We may disclose personal information to service providers under written contracts for business purposes. We do not sell personal information.
13. Other Regions
Residents of Canada, the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and other regions may have additional privacy rights. You can contact us at privacy@plantivision.com to request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law.
14. Children
The Services are not intended for children under 13, or under a higher age where local law requires parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us.
